Tawana is a Social Justice organizer, youth advocate, poet and author. She is involved in data and digital privacy advocacy and education, as well as work on racial justice and fairness. She believes that surveillance is not synonymous with security for populations. She has been identified as one of the 100 Brightest Women in AI Ethics in 2020.
